My name is Lisa, and I live alone. I know firsthand the freedom and independence that comes with having your own space, but I also know the quiet fear that lingers in the background—what if something happens and no one knows?
That fear became very real for me when I lost two friends, both just 47 years old, to diabetes-related illness. One of them was found dead after two or three days. The other was found in a coma. I still wonder—what if they had been found sooner? Could things have turned out differently?
That question stayed with me. I kept thinking about how many people live alone, how easily health issues can go unnoticed, and how the worst-case scenario often isn’t a dramatic fall or a sudden collapse—it’s simply not being found in time.
I didn’t want to accept that as an unavoidable risk. So, I created Solo Alert—a simple, no-fuss check-in app designed for people like me, and maybe people like you. You check in at set times, and if you don’t, your safety circle is alerted. No wearables, no invasive tracking—just a way to make sure someone knows when you need help.
I created Solo Alert because I don’t want anyone else to wonder, “What if?” I want people who live alone to have the freedom to enjoy their independence without the fear of being completely on their own in an emergency.
If you or someone you love lives alone, I hope Solo Alert can bring the same peace of mind to you that it has to me. Because living alone shouldn’t mean being alone when it matters most.
